On Friday, October 25th, Seton Boys Varsity soccer (15-2-1) won the DAC Championships against an undefeated regular season champions Wakefield School (13-1) in the rain and the chill. Early in the game, Seton went down 0-1 due to a handball call in the penalty box. Seton scored late in the second half off a throw by junior Justin Fioramonti, with an assist by freshman Bobby Vander Woude, and a score by junior John Paul Vander Woude. The game went to two sudden death overtimes with no change in score. Seton subbed in junior goalie Dominic Olszewski for senior John Pennefather at the end of OT. Dominic saved the fourth PK attempt by Wakefield, while junior Anton Murray, freshman Andrew Nguyen, junior Justin Fioramonti, sophomore Peter Reyes, and junior John Paul Vander Woude all scored their PKs. Seton won in PKs 5 -3. Seton now awaits the final state ranking for the VIS Division II State soccer tournament.
