Girls Varsity Softball vs. Foxcroft School

Seton Conquistador Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 22-12 loss to Foxcroft on Tuesday.  Foxcroft scored on a grand slam by Annie Zimmerman in the first inning, a single by Georgia Gonzalez-Sudberry in the second inning, and a groundout by Bridgette Elliot in the second inning.

 

Seton Conquistador Varsity collected seven hits and Foxcroft had eight in the high-scoring affair.

 

In the first inning, Foxcroft got their offense started when Zimmerman homered on a 2-0 count, scoring four runs.

 

Seton Conquistador Varsity tallied five runs in the third inning.  Madeline Byers, Christie Pacheco, Claire Witter, and Annie Stevens each had RBIs in the big inning.

 

Foxcroft scored four runs in the seventh inning.  Foxcroft batters contributing to the big inning included Gonzalez-Sudberry and Siekentnt, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

 

Zimmerman earned the win for Foxcroft. She went seven innings, allowing 12 runs on seven hits and striking out 11.

 

Lydia Lewandoski took the loss for Seton Conquistador Varsity. She lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and 22 runs while striking out four.

 

Foxcroft mashed two home runs on the day. Zimmerman had a four bagger in the first inning. Gonzalez-Sudberry went for the long ball in the seventh inning.

 

Seton Conquistador Varsity racked up seven hits in the game.  Witter and Pacheco all collected multiple hits for Seton Conquistador Varsity.  Pacheco and Witter all had two hits to lead Seton Conquistador Varsity.  Witter led Seton Conquistador Varsity with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 14 stolen bases.

 

Foxcroft tallied eight hits on the day.  Gonzalez-Sudberry and Zimmerman each had multiple hits for Foxcroft.  Gonzalez-Sudberry led Foxcroft with four hits in five at bats.
